These workshops are designed to provide participants with an immersive experience into the artistry of the balafon—a traditional African wooden xylophone—and the cultural legacy it embodies. Key Components of the Workshop: Balafon Techniques: Participants will be guided through the intricate techniques that define balafon playing. From striking to damping and rolling, these techniques form the foundation of the balafon's distinct sound. Rhythmic Patterns: The heart of West African music lies in its rhythmic complexity.
