FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The AACCCS Black History Month (BHM) celebration continues with the Issamba
Showcase - The Ultimate Journey Through the Depths of African Rooted-Rhythms at the
Victoria Events Centre on Friday, February 17th.
Every February marks Black History month in
Canada. We’re all invited to take part in celebrations highlighting the culture and contributions of Black people of African Descent. The AACCCS Black History Month celebration continues with the highly-anticipated Issamba Showcase, with internationally acclaimed artist, Mamadou
Diabate and Percussion Mania; joining them on stage will be Montreal-based artist, Naxx Bitota alongside LeFLOFRANCO from Ottawa.
For all music and culture lovers, the ISSAMBA Showcase will not disappoint. AACCCS
Executive Director Pulcherie Mboussi says, “this is a musical experience of a lifetime. You don’t
want to miss it!” When Mamadou Diabate is on stage playing the balafon, something magical
happens between him and the audience. With his tight strokes, he makes the audience move.
When this Burkinabe virtuoso is on fire and plays as fast as he can—which is really fast—the
audience stands up and starts dancing. At the end of the show, everybody is dancing like mad, (Worldwide Afropop).
AACCCS invites everyone to attend and experience a Black History Month night to remember.
Performances will be live in Victoria, Vancouver, and Nanaimo from February 17 - 19, 2023. Last chance to get your tickets online:
