About the Event
Justice Canada has set up a steering committee for the creation of the Black Justice Strategy.
Due to this mandate, the steering committee has reached out to Black-led organizations across Canada to assist them in gathering inputs from Black community members who have interacted with the country’s Justice system in any capacity.
We are calling on Black community members in BC who: have been involved with the criminal justice system, whether as an accused, a victim/survivor, has interacted with the police; or work in the Justice system (lawyers, court clerks, court workers, etc.); and work with Black people to avoid the justice system and/or work with Black people after their release from incarceration.
If you identify with any of these categories, we cordially invite you to join us in this data collection initiative. Your participation will significantly contribute to the formulation of the Black Justice Strategy. Your input is invaluable, and we believe your participation can drive meaningful change. We appreciate your presence and insights.
