About the Event

In concordance with our theme for Black History Month 2023, “Building Bridges” we have thoughtfully curated a series of events that honor the legacies of many black Canadians who have contributed to shaping Canada’s diversity and building cross-cultural connections.

We invite all Canadians to learn more about these heroes, and how they continue to help shape the story of Canada.

Design Thinking

Supported by the Public Health Agency of Canada (inc.), we are engaging Persons of African Descent in BC to understand the impact of the current pandemic response on the community and to develop an advisory crisis management plan that can be adopted during future widespread emergencies. It is our hope that as we utilize the iterative stages of design thinking, we develop innovative solutions that address future crises in ways that build a stronger, more resilient, and connected community.
