Each year, ISSAMBA Centre reaches thousands of community members through festivals, youth programs, artist development, and public engagement initiatives across British Columbia and Canada

Cultural Events & Festivals
Cultural Events & Festivals
Public investment supports the creation and presentation of professional, community-rooted cultural events, including:
• AfriCa Fest, ISSAMBA Showcase, Mama Put Pop-Ups
• Community markets and cultural celebrations
• Music, dance, storytelling, culinary and visual arts
Public funding helps cover artist fees, transportation, meals, and production costs, ensuring equitable access and professional presentation.
Youth Programs & Cultural Education
Donations directly support youth-focused programs, including Sankofa Moments, Kids in Africa Project, H.Y.P.E. Camp, and school-based cultural workshops.
Your contribution helps deliver hands-on learning experiences, drumming, dance, storytelling, leadership development, and intergenerational knowledge transfer, empowering young people to build confidence, cultural pride, and transferable life skills.
Funding reduces financial barriers and supports youth aged 12–25 in developing creativity, leadership, and transferable skills.
Community Engagement & Social Impact
Your generosity strengthens our ability to convene communities through dialogue, healing circles, leadership forums, and inclusive public programming.
Support enables community leaders, elders, and facilitators to coordinate activities that promote belonging, combat isolation, address systemic barriers, and foster cross-cultural understanding, particularly for Black, African, and Afro-descendant communities.

Artist Development & Cultural Exchange
With your help, ISSAMBA Centre supports emerging and established artists through performance opportunities, mentorship, touring showcases, and international collaborations.
Your contribution helps bring artists from Africa and the African diaspora to connect with local talent, create new works, and expand cultural exchange, ensuring African voices are visible, valued, and sustainably supported.
Public investment supports mentorship, touring, collaboration, and sustainable careers for African and Afro-descendant artists.
AACCCE-ISSAMBA Centre welcomes public, private, and in-kind contributions that support equitable access to arts and culture.
$50 supports youth workshop materials
• $100 helps cover artist transportation or meals
$250 supports a public community forum or performance
