From cultural orientation and community connections to creative learning and leadership development, ISSAMBA Centre supports African, Afro-descendant, and Black communities in navigating, connecting, and thriving within Canadian society through culturally grounded programming.

Arts, Culture & Heritage Programs

ISSAMBA Centre offers year-round arts and cultural programming, including live performances, workshops, exhibitions, storytelling, and heritage education that celebrate African and Afro-diasporic cultures and traditions.

Youth & Leadership Development

Our youth programs empower young people (ages 12–25) through mentorship, leadership training, creative expression, dialogue, and civic engagement, fostering confidence, identity, and community responsibility.

Through AfriCa Fest and other public celebrations, ISSAMBA Centre brings communities together to experience music, dance, food, arts, and cultural exchange in inclusive, accessible public spaces.

ISSAMBA Centre facilitates conversations, panels, workshops, and learning spaces focused on African history, identity, anti-racism, social inclusion, and community resilience.

We create opportunities for elders, adults, youth, and children to connect through storytelling, cultural transmission, shared meals, arts activities, and intergenerational learning.
